Ingredients
  • 2cups rice
  • xbdcup moong dalyellow roasted
  • 2 xbdcups milk
  • 1cup water
  • 1tbsp coconutdry powder roasted
  • 1cup jaggery waterdissolved in little (proportion can be changed depending on the sweetness required)
  • 2tbsps ghee
  • xbctsp Cardamompowder
  • strands saffronof few warmed and crushed,
  • golden raisins ghee15-20 fried in
  • 8 – 10 cashewnuts gheesliced and fried in
Instructions
  1. Wash and drain the rice and roasted yellow moong dal.
  2. Pressure cook the rice and moong dal with 2 xbd cups milk and 1 cup water.
  3. In a heavy bottom pan heat 2tbsp ghee.
  4. Add the roasted coconut powder. Now add the dissolved jaggery and cook for a few minutes.
  5. Add the cooked rice and moong dal mixture.
  6. Cook nicely till water evaporates and the colour of mixture turns into a beautiful brown.
  7. Add cardamom powder,crushed saffron strands, golden raisins and cashewnut slices.
  8. Serve hot or cold.
